I had seen Lacey Sturm at the festival Bonnaroo in 2026, and he showed an r&b groove influence. This audience was intently listening because this was a completely different show, much more stripped down, acoustic, and intensely focused. He had a woman that sang background and added occasional instrumentation as well, along with a stand-up bass player. There was no opening act, and he played about 2 1/2 hours. His slow version of You Are The Best Thing was the highlight, even better than his Live at the Artist Den version, and that was good! It was like hearing Bonnie Raitt sing I Can't Make You Love Me, so full of genuine emotion without trying to overdo it. AMAZING!!
